About PorchMedic

One person, an easy pace, and plain answers about Medicare that you can read again at your own kitchen table.

Why the porch

A Slower Seat for a Big Decision

I named this PorchMedic after the place where the best conversations in my family always happened. Nobody on a porch is in a hurry, and nobody is selling anything. That is the feeling I want every Medicare conversation to carry.

Most people reach me after a pile of mailers, a few loud commercials and a phone that will not stop ringing. I slow all of that down. You tell me how you actually use health care, and I arrange the choices around your life instead of around a sales goal.

My job is to make the choice clear. The choice itself stays yours.

What I hold to

The Habits I Keep With Every Person

These are not slogans. They are the small rules that shape how each review with me actually goes.

Your list comes first

Before a single plan comes up, I write down your doctors, your medicines and the pharmacy you trust. That list decides what earns a closer look.

Plain words only

If a term needs a glossary, I translate it on the spot. You should never have to nod along to something you do not follow.

Everything in writing

Each suggestion arrives with a short note explaining my reasoning, so you can share it with family or read it again next month.

What Working With Me Looks Like

What you can count on

  • A review built around your own doctors and medicines
  • Honest notes on where a plan falls short, not only where it shines
  • Room to ask the same question twice without feeling rushed
  • A written summary you can hand to a spouse or grown child

What you will not get from me

  • Pressure to decide before you feel ready
  • A plan picked because of a flashy advertisement
  • Insurance jargon left unexplained
  • Endless follow ups after you have made up your mind
About me, briefly

A Few Honest Answers

Who will I be writing to?

Just me. Your details are not passed around an office, and every reply you receive is one I wrote myself.

Can a family member join in?

Of course. Plenty of people bring a son, daughter or spouse into the conversation, and I am glad to explain things to everyone at once.

What if I already have a plan?

Then I start with the plan you already hold. Sometimes the smartest move is staying put, and I will tell you plainly when that is the case.

Is PorchMedic part of the government?

No. I work independently and I am not connected with the federal Medicare program or any government agency.
